Young children and senior citizens learning in intergenerational community spaces.
Welcome to the first newsletter of the TOY Project. The purpose of TOY is to create new possibilities for senior citizens (over 55 years) and young children (8 years and younger) to learn and have fun together. We believe that such intergenerational opportunities are more important than ever in Europe given its ageing population, changing family structures and migration. Intergenerational learning can be informal and can take place in many different kinds of places in the community such as: a local library or community culture and arts centre, a daycare centre, park or playground.
