The TOY Online Course is back!

The very popular online TOY Course, Together Old and Young: An Intergenerational Approach was relaunched last week on ECOS – Early Childhood One System.

This flexible, self-paced 4-module course is designed for educators; social care professionals and community leaders who are interested in creating inclusive intergenerational programmes for children (0–8) and adults aged 65+. Its unique focus on young children distinguishes this course from other intergenerational learning programmes.

The TOY Course was developed by International Child Development Initiatives (ICDI)Linking Generations Northern Ireland, and Technological University Dublin and digitalized by Hellenic Open University – Daissy. It was originally published in 2018 on a different learning platform as part of an EU-funded project developed across seven European countries. More than 1000 participants from all parts of the world participated in the Course between 2018 and 2022.

The relaunched TOY Course has been revised and updated with the latest research about intergenerational learning. It also has new videos and learning materials. No prior experience of intergenerational learning is required to follow the course. It offers flexibility and a Certificate of Knowledge and it is possible to take the four modules separately. Click here to access the course.
